Computer not Starting

There are many possible reasons why your computer system may stop booting correctly. Generally, they fall under two categories – Hardware or Software.

Hardware Failure
A failed or faulty component inside your computer system can cause the PC to stop booting or fail to switch on all together. Our Technicians are full qualified and equipped to diagnose and hardware faults onsite.
We carry a wide range of parts with us, allowing us to repair most jobs on the spot. If your job can’t be repaired on-site, the technician will provide you with a written quote for off-site repairs.

Software Failure
The software loaded on your computer system (i.e. Windows, Microsoft Word, Anti-Virus Software) can sometimes be corrupted or damaged. There are many reasons for this, and it’s often very difficult to determine the exact cause of software problems or corruption. Some of the more common causes include:

Not shutting down correctly
Recent Windows Updates
Anti-Virus or Internet Security Software clashes

In most situations we can repair your current Operating System and return your PC to a stable, reliable and familiar state. Occasionally the damage or corruption can be so bad we have to reinstall your operating system from scratch. This process involves:

Backing up any important data. We can retrieve data from your PC even if it’s not booting.
Formatting your Hard Drive
Reinstalling your Operating System (Windows)
Installing any Software and reconfiguring your PC

Generally, this process takes between one to two hours, but can take longer if you have large amounts of data to backup.
